Yacht delivery questions

How much does a yacht delivery cost?

We price at fixed rates based on how long the passage from A to B will take, which depends on the distance, the boat and the crew needed. On top of that are crew travel, fuel and moorings en route, all agreed with you before anything is booked. Our instant estimate tool gives you a price range in a couple of minutes.

Is my yacht insured during the delivery?

Hornblower Yachting has full professional indemnity, employer's liability and public liability insurance, and every skipper holds their own professional third-party liability policy. Your hull insurer should also be told about the delivery; we're happy to talk it through.

Who will skipper my boat?

An experienced, commercially qualified delivery skipper chosen for your type of boat and route, with qualified crew where the passage needs them. We've completed well over 500 deliveries, sail and power.

Where do you deliver yachts to and from?

Anywhere from the UK and Ireland to Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, the Canaries and Azores, and across the Atlantic to the Caribbean and the US East Coast. Popular routes include the Solent to the Mediterranean, the UK to the Netherlands and coastal moves around the UK.

How long does a delivery take?

It depends on the distance, the boat's cruising speed and the weather. We plan each passage around a safe weather window and keep you updated throughout, including tracking on longer passages.

Can I come along on the delivery?

Yes. Our assisted passage service puts a professional skipper aboard with you, so you can build confidence on your own boat while it's moved.
