How we work
Our skippers and crew use the Hornblower app on every job, so safety checks, passage planning and tracking are done the same thorough way each time — and recorded.
Before every passage our skipper works through a full safety checklist in the Hornblower app — liferaft, flares, fire extinguishers, lifejackets and much more — with the crew briefed on where everything is. Any defect is logged and reported straight away.
Each leg is planned and recorded: route, weather, ports, people on board and timings. The plan is signed off in the app and kept with your delivery, so the office always knows the intentions.
A satellite tracker goes aboard for the delivery, so we — and you — can see exactly where your boat is, with the track plotted on a chart from departure to arrival.
For boat owners
Every client gets an owner account. Everything about your delivery is in one place — before, during and after.
Our reviews
Truly 5-Star service from Hornblower Yachting, and I would definitely use them again for yacht delivery services. Great communication throughout and with nothing but the customer’s and boat’s interests at heart.
Hornblower yachting was recommended to me by another sailing company which is always a good start but what impressed me most was the crew he supplied. I had to move a recent purchase from Swanwick to the Wash in the east of England. Richard and Josh and myself sailed the journey non stop as I was up against a deadline. I was extremely impressed with how the overriding concern of the delivery captain was safety. Nothing was too much effort and he went the extra mile to meet the delivery target. The competency I saw as the trip progressed through some busy and challenging waters rested my mind absolutely, they also were generous with their time in coaching me and provided so much helpful advice. Fantastic people. Special shoutout to Josh who showed himself to be a a top young man, he will have a highly successful future in the sailing world. Do not hesitate to use this company. Tim was a pleasure to deal with.
At short notice Tim at Hornblower was able to provide a very experience skipper to help us move our boat from Lymington to Cadiz against a very tight timetable. We had lots of teething problems with the systems and fuel on our “new to us” yacht over the journey but the skipper worked tirelessly to identify and resolve them, even on our rest days. A big help in achieving our goals. Thanks
My wife and have sailed for over 30 years (32' Contessa; 36' Bavaria; and now 32' Southerly). But too many children (4), dogs (2), accidents, chaotic marina entrances/exits and too little time on the boat had seriously shaken our confidence, such that my Yachtmaster wife had even developed something of a phobia for getting out on the boat. So we found Tim. He came on board the Southerly for a day - and spent a full day with the family coaxing, encouraging, drilling on sails, ropes, entering/exiting marina, backwards/forwards/sideways. An absolute revelation. Calm, authoritative, practical, understanding and kind. Following the day we have just been for a 3 day trip to the Isle of Wight with hugely restored confidence and suddenly found that it is fun again. Huge thanks Tim!
I have dealt with Tim at Hornblower many times to get boats moved, organise rallies and help boat buyers with tuition. Always friendly, well organised and nothing is ever too much trouble. If you are looking for assistance with anything boating, then Tim is your guy.
I've done a number of deliveries as skipper for Hornblower Yachting and I continue to be blown away by the attention to detail of Tim and his team. The deliveries are always extremely well organised and robust processes and systems ensure safety is taken very seriously. Pre-departure + arrival checklists ensure nothing gets missed. Tim is a very kind, generous and genuine guy who really cares about the skippers and crew who work alongside him and he takes great pride in his work.
We employed Tim to assist us in moving our newly purchased Pearl62 from Southampton to Corfu, and Tim was with us every step of the way, from supervising the loading to discharge, and finally to helping us sail it from Split to Corfu. Very professional, and a great cook to boot. Would highly recommend Hornblower, and Tim.
We would highly recommend Tim for any boat delivery you may be thinking about. He is very very professional and and has very high standards. He has moved our 42ft Motor cruiser on 2 occasions for us now and we have always felt 100% secure with his knowledge and efficiency. He is a great guy and we have no hesitation in recommending his services, they are 5 star … Thank you Tim, from Val & Gareth
Great people and company. I hired them to assist sailing my monohull from Las Sable d’Olonne France to the med. The team and Captain were amazing. Highly recommended.
Tim gave us a sailing lesson on our new yacht. It was a fantastic day - fun and we learned a lot. Tim's teaching style is brilliant, it's like you're being taught by a friend. I'd thoroughly recommend Hornblower Yachting to anyone looking for tuition.
